Day 11 – Four Flights & the Most Southern Bar in the World

I posted yesterday before our night ended. We Hung out in the lounge and had caviar, spring rolls and martinis for dinner.  Once we were allowed off the ship, which was around 10 pm, we walked into town and went to the bar. Now we can say we have gone to the most southern bar in the world (not sure if this is true but we are claiming it as such as there is not a more southern city ). We stayed for a bit and then walked to the “town square” to take pics w the nativity scene.

Our friend Paul was kind enough to open a tab and everyone who went. From the ship, including the crew, ordered on his tab and it was only 125 dollars – so cheap! We then walked back to the ship and passed out.

Got up early and met our friends for breakfast for one last time, and then waited around the lounge until our bus was called.  Three small charter flights out of Puerto Williams for all the ship’s passengers to Punta Arenas.  Then one flight for us all to Santiago and that’s where we split up to head to our respective homes.

The first flight was 40 minutes and it was easy.  We hung out on the puntas arenas airport for a couple hours and boarded our flight to Santiago.   Three hour flight.

We arrived in Santiago and it was a shit show.    We got off the plane and picked up our luggage and had to find the international terminal.    We got there around 630 for our 11 pm flight.   We stood in line for 45 minutes because they didn’t open til 7 which meant 730.   Then once we had our ticket check and it was time to check our bags, that didn’t open until 8.   Then passport security, then security and now our 4 hour layover turned into an hour and a half.

And now it’s time to board.    Thank goodness.   See you on the other side.

Cici at sea signing off ….

What an amazing adventure! You took the ‘road less traveled’ and shared experiences that few people will ever experience, and you did it with new and old friends. I’m so happy it was all and more than you could have dreamed!! Love you, sweetie!!
